The Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA), the peak arbitral organisation in India, was established in 1965 in New Delhi to promote and encourage arbitration, rather than litigation, as the best alternative for the amicable and quick settlement of industrial and trade disputes.
The Government of India, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), other important chambers of commerce and trade associations in India, as well as export promotion councils, public sector undertakings, companies and firms are in its membership.
ICA boasts a panel of around 1500 arbitrators with an extensive array of professional qualifications and expertise (legal and non-legal), guaranteeing a tribunal of the highest aptitude and proficiency.
Details about the ICA, including its office-bearers, services and contact details can be found in the ICA Member Profile at the Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG) web site.
